Privacy Policy
Version 1 · 21 October 2026
ActionForge is made by CgStuff. If you have a question about this policy or your data, email support@actionforge.app.
The short version
- The animation tools run on your computer, in your browser. Nothing you make, import or edit in them is uploaded. It stays in your browser's storage on your own device. We can't see it.
- You don't need an account to use the tools.
- Only three things send anything to our server, and only when you choose to:
- pressing Share to make a short link;
- the Community, if you sign in and use it (coming soon);
- posting a daily (a video) in the Community (coming soon).
- The site's code contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking cookies.
1. Using the tools
What stays on your device. The animations, characters, scenes and settings you work on are kept in your browser's own storage on the device you're using. They never leave it unless you share or post them. If you clear this site's data in your browser, they're deleted, and we can't get them back for you.
The offline copy. The site can keep a copy of its own files on your computer so it opens without a connection. This holds only the site's files, never your work. "Remove the offline copy" deletes it. Each time the site starts, it asks our server which version is current.
When you visit. Like any website, ActionForge is delivered by a hosting company, Cloudflare. When your browser asks for a page, Cloudflare's servers receive the request, including your IP address, the address asked for and your browser type. We have Cloudflare's request logging turned on for our server code, to find errors. What those logs hold and how long they're kept is set by Cloudflare: see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Other sites. Our fonts and code are served from our own site. Links to YouTube, Discord, Quaternius and Creative Commons load nothing until you click them. On the Community's Home page, the picture of our newest video is loaded from YouTube's image server, so your browser contacts Google when Home opens. The video player (from youtube-nocookie.com) loads only when you press play.
2. Share links
When you press Share, the scene's settings are saved on our server under a short link. Your files are never uploaded. What is saved is what the long link already carries in the address bar: which animations and character the scene uses, and the slider, adjustment, prop and IK values. If the scene uses an animation or a character of your own, the link names it (its name and a short fingerprint of the file) but doesn't hold the file. Whoever opens the link needs the same file on their own computer to see it. No account, name or IP address is stored with a link.
- Anyone who has the link can open the scene.
- Sharing the same scene twice gives the same link.
- Share links are kept with no end date.
Links made with the first version of Share are stored encrypted. The key is only in the link itself, so we can't read them.
3. The Community (coming soon)
The Community is optional. Nothing below applies unless you sign in.
Signing in with Google
You sign in on Google's own page. We ask Google for two things only: your Google account's ID and your email address. We never see your Google password. Google's part is covered by Google's privacy policy.
What we keep about you
- Your Google account ID, so we recognise you next time. It is never shown.
- Your email address, as Google gives it, updated each time you sign in. It is seen only by the site's owner (CgStuff) in the Community's admin dashboard, to know who posted what and to contact you about it. It is never shown on the site.
- The name you choose. It's public.
- When you joined, and whether you said yes to news emails, and when (see section 4).
- If you comment on a daily: that you accepted the feedback rule, which version, and when.
- Your age check. To join you tick that you're 16 or older. We don't store your age or birth date.
What you post is public
Anyone, signed in or not, can see:
- Your posts: the animation or pose's motion, its picture and moving preview, its name and description, what you ask for feedback on, and where it was made.
- Your comments and your daily videos.
- The name you go by and when you posted.
- How many likes a post has. Who liked it is not shown; only you see which posts you've liked.
When you offer a post to the library, what you write about how you made it is seen only by the site's owner, not on the page.
A live post's motion, picture and preview are served to anyone who opens it, so others can save copies of them.
Daily videos (with their previews and pictures) are kept in public storage at dailies.actionforge.app so they can play. Anyone with a video's address can play or download it.
Reports and moderation
- If you report something, we keep who reported it, the reason, your words, and a copy of what was reported as it was at that moment. Reports are seen by the site's owner.
- Anything reported by three different people is hidden until the owner has looked at it.
- The owner's decisions are logged with the reason: approving, declining, taking down, putting back, settling a report, stopping an account from posting, banning. If your post is taken down, you're told why on your own page.
- If an account is banned, we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of its Google account ID, so the ban holds even if the account is deleted.
Agreements
When you join, and each time you post something, we record that you accepted the Community Agreement: which version, and when. When you offer something to the library, allow remixing, or post a daily, we record the same for that wording. These records are kept as proof, even after the post or your account is deleted.
Cookies
The Community uses four cookies, all needed to sign you in. All of them belong to this site only, can't be read by scripts on the page, and are sent only over HTTPS:
| Cookie | What it's for | How long |
|---|---|---|
__Host-af-session | Keeps you signed in. We store only a scrambled copy of it. | 30 days |
__Host-af-signin | Carries you to Google's sign-in and back. | 10 minutes |
__Host-af-joining | Back from Google for the first time, while you choose your name. | 30 minutes |
__Host-af-said | Tells you once why a sign-in didn't work. | 1 minute |
There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and the animation tools set no cookies at all.
Limits against spam
We count how many likes, comments, posts and reports each account makes in a day, by account. We don't record your IP address for this.
Where it is stored
Community data is stored with Cloudflare: a database (Cloudflare D1) and file storage (Cloudflare R2).
4. News emails
When you join, you can tick "Send me ActionForge news by email, now and then". It isn't ticked to start with. We record your answer and when you gave it.
We don't send any news emails yet. Before we do, every email will carry a working unsubscribe link, and you'll be able to change your answer.
5. Deleting your account, or a post
Deleting your account (in the Community) signs you out everywhere and:
- deletes your account: your name, your email address, your Google account ID and your news choice;
- removes your posts from the site, with the comments and likes under them;
- removes your daily videos from storage at once;
- removes your likes;
- keeps your comments on other people's posts, without your name;
- keeps anything already approved into the library (see the Community Agreement): it was released as CC0 and stays, credited with the name you had;
- keeps agreement records, reports you made and moderation records, under an account number that no longer leads to anyone. A ban, if there was one, stays, as described above.
Taking down one post removes it from the site at once.
When a post is removed, by you or with your account, copies of its files (its motion, picture and preview) stay in our private storage, where nobody can reach them. If you want those copies deleted too, email support@actionforge.app.
6. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email support@actionforge.app.
7. Children
The Community is for people aged 16 and over. The tools need no account and collect nothing about anyone.
8. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date, and say so on the site if the change is significant.
